Cancellation Policy
We understand that things come up and plans change. Sometimes clients need to cancel dog walking or pet sitting visits that they had previously scheduled. We also believe that our pet sitters’ time is valuable. Pet sitters often plan their vacations and time with their family and friends around client schedules.
We have a limited number of pet sitting and dog walking appointment slots available each day and once they’re filled, we have to turn away any additional dog walking or pet sitting requests in order to ensure that our pet sitters have sufficient time to give each pet the quality care they deserve.
We never overbook.
To be fair to our clients who occasionally need to change their schedules and our pet sitters and dog walkers who set aside time for appointments and to ensure that our appointment slots are available to those who need them most, we require at least 72 hours.
If not given 72 hour notice the client will be charged for the first day of the scheduled service. Due to increased demand during Holiday Periods, a $150 non-refundable deposit will be taken upon scheduling. If there are extreme circumstances the clients deposit will be returned at the discretion of Just a Walk in the Park.
Just a Walk in the Park’s Hurricane and Evacuation Policy.
Based on our experiences with severe weather in the past, it is very important for clients to realize we have a large number of pets in our care, and we are not equipped to evacuate all of them in an emergency situation. We ask that you provide us with a local contact who can take your pets in case of a hurricane evacuation or other emergency.
Emergency Contact who can (a) be reached 24 hours a day, (b) make decisions regarding your pet and (c) retrieve your pet in case of a threatening storm.
**Please confirm your Emergency Contact each time you leave town.**
